“I started this challenge with a black box I found at a thrift shop. Suddenly, strange ideas about what lurks inside a closet began to haunt me. I had to create my own monstrous closet complete with my hidden fears and skeletons. Two ghoulish skeleton heads on the outside portend the macabre contents inside. A Halloween pencil is the curtain rod with skeleton head erasers as the anchors. Inside, nightmarish everyday things like a black raven’s feather, a fashion doll’s spider web dress, white fur, big dogs, and flames mingle together. I know the manifestations of my hidden fears are having a ghostly good time in their own creepy closet.”
