"Childhood Garden: A Memory of Endless Spring & Summer

This piece is the second in a series of dream-like memories from my early childhood.
I loved my mother’s garden, which was surrounded by a low picket fence.  The asparagus always arrived first, followed by rhubarb & peonies.
Finally, the garden plot was over-seeded with zinnias, which grew alongside the tomatoes for the remainder of the summer.  I created this piece to remember the colors & textures of that small, but important, part of my childhood.
