This piece is the second in a series of dream-like memories from my early childhood.
I loved my mother’s garden, which was surrounded by a low picket fence. The asparagus always arrived first, followed by rhubarb & peonies.
Finally, the garden plot was over-seeded with zinnias, which grew alongside the tomatoes for the remainder of the summer. I created this piece to remember the colors & textures of that small, but important, part of my childhood.
Love it! Nice color and I love the layout/collage style you have. Beautiful!
A very lovely piece and the quilting certainly adds to its beauty.
Hi Leslie, I love the use of colours and on closer inspection, the stitching around the piece, is very interesting.
