I knew right away I wanted to incorporate a variety of beautiful buttons into my on-going series of "Whimsical Women." Using both new and vintage buttons in a range of aqua blues, I created a collage of curls for her big diva hair. While I was working on this piece the song "Button Up Your Overcoat" kept running through my mind over and over again. I chose to use one large flower button for her coat. The flowers are repeated in many of the buttons in her hair. White swirls in the background echo the curve of her coat collar. Her highly arched brows and crooked smile give her the quirky and whimsical look I was going for. I really enjoyed bringing this lady to life!
