The Tree that Was Me by Katie Madeloso

An oasis beckons across a fertile land. A calm meditation instigates inner conversations. Layers of color, texture and imagery reflect my personal journey through life. I enjoy the challenge of creating innovative ways to combine old techniques and styles with new and to include many facets of hand and machine embroidery.

Materials: commercial cotton fabrics, hand and machine embroidery, Wonderfil machine thread, various threads and yarn, wire, agate beads, button

Techniques: raw edge applique, free motion machine quilting, free form embroidery, couching.
