Robot #2 is one in a series of robots I created this year. He is a glass mosaic on top of a digital collage that combines my photoshop work along with hand drawn details in ink and watercolor. His body has a large metal washer and an old optician's lens. I like to combine a wide range of materials with my work and also play with the layering of text, paint and glass. My digital collage work is created using a wacom drawing tablet. I try to achieve a loose messy look with my digital art and then often further enhance that with traditional media on top. For me it is all about layering and process. I find that the glass mosaic technique adds a depth and richness to my collage work.
