Smile is a fabric collage that measures approximately 9 inches by 20 inches (not
counting the stick it hangs from)
Smile was created to simply remind me how much fun life is. When I see the
cheerful cat cut out of commercial fabric, I smile. Side 1 is commercial fabrics
layered and stitched together, with some fabrics melted for additional texture
and plenty of beads.
Side 2 is used tea bags with more layered and stitched fabrics, a chunk of copper and more wonderful beads. I love the
dangling heart and the fact that this is a reversible piece with 2 completely different looks!
Sorry folks! Didn’t mean to get this posted twice – I think the system hiccupped or something… : )
Having two different sides is great! Though I like side one, I love warmtha and color combinations on side 2! Marnita Patton
Thanks for your comment, Marnita –
I love making reversible or transformable pieces. With “Smile” I definitely get in the mood to display one side or the other… depends on the season, what’s going on – who knows? But it’s fun to change it.

Again… so nice your “play” with color, and especially the LAYERS! Lovely… it does make one SMILE! Nice work.
Wow, very nice!
I love great cat fabrics, too. Never can pass them up at the fabric shop. This is such a fun piece. Very clever to make it reversible!
I like the fact that both sides are related but very different and, yes, your artwork made me smile. Marijoe
Beautiful, colorful, and awesome!!!
