Necklace: The Bird and Her Nest
This necklace is made from a floral bird, wood-twig nest and egg beads. The draping strands of the necklace include freshwater potato pearls, oxidized chain and glass beads. The flowers are made from acrylic bead petals that are wire-wrapped with small freshwater potato pearl centers.
The oxidized silver neck chain is woven with two strands of glass, acrylic and seed beads. Brown, metallic-like ribbon is knotted to the neck chain, the bird platform and the nest. It is meant to simulate branches. All the chain is silver plated. A fancy, oxidized silver hook and eye clasp finishes the necklace (not shown).
I created “The Bird and Her Nest” necklace because I love birds and this necklace reminds me of their instinctual nature for creation of the species. I especially like the beads used for the eggs. They look like real bird eggs.
Love all the thought and detail that went into this. Very creative!
From another bird lover here, the necklace is FANtastic! Very creative and also beautiful.
