Represented here is a side view of my skull to get a real feel for the soft sculpture. I incorporated beautifully textured fabrics, embroidery and beading to make a simple but striking 3-D skull. This is my first entry for a challenge and it was wonderful to work through the process of creating it!
Constructed it out of heavy duty watercolor paper textured with layers of acrylic paint. The light openings are cut-outs of chicks and folksy dots, and this has been embellished with free-form machine sewn fabric eggs, hand sewn beads, and decoratively edged corners.
