This is a hand carved block or stamp shown with a print on muslin. This was done as a demo block in my printmaking class. I find bold designs make for easy carving and wonderful designs. This can be turned 4 directions too!
I carved this from a drawing of a lotus flower I made based off of an image I found. New to stamp carving, but I'm loving it!
I carved a paisley stamp, shown here in blue, but I think it would look nice in many colors, and in multicolor. I can also imagine coloring in or doodling in the white spaces, or using it for a repeating design.
I've always been fascinated by leaves, their shape, and their colors, especially in the fall. I created this stamp for the Hand Carved Stamp Swap. These leaves could be stamped in a range of interesting colors and used for cards, postcards, bookmarks, and even some lovely stationary.
I adore jellyfish – they are my totem creature. They are so beautiful and graceful and such a unique part of our ecosystem. I hope whoever gets this will enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it!
