Been challenging myself to draw and paint more faces since the recent CPS "FACES" challenge. Here's one of my recent art journal pages where I grabbed a Victoria's Secret catalog and used one of the model faces for inspiration.
12 x 16" Mixed media on canvas. I use paper and fabric collage as a base and then add painted elements to finish the piece. Each of the bees/wasps is handpainted over the collaged canvas. Here is a detail:
I had so much fun with this creation. I really wanted to make something that was steampunked inspired. I used all kinds of awesome supplies and based this whole creation on a vintage photos from the late 1800's.
